Paris October 2022

A few pictures from our trip to Paris in October 2022. This was the first time either of us had been there, and also the first time I'd been n Eurostar. The occasion was my 60th birthday, which we celebrated by going to see Hot Chip, who were excellent. Dint go up the big tower because the queue was too long so that'll have to wait until the next time

Ray Cowles Motorcycles Pontypool

I've lived in South Wales for the best part of 25 years, and for the first few years lived near Pontypool. I used to drive past this shop every day on my way to work in Cardiff. I didn't have a bike license at the time, so it didn't much interest me - but it always struck me as looking as though it was lost in time. Roll on a quarter of a century and even though I don't live near it now, whenever I pass through Pontypool I've found myself taking the side road to see if its still there. I must have said to everyone a thousand times, "I've got to go and take a look" after all, surely it wont still be there next year.... So, at last, welcome to Ray Cowles Motorcycles of Pontypool. The Car and Bike list.

Like lists? This is, I think, every car and bike I have ever bought or had given to me by a company. My own pictures are few and far between unfortunately, but I've added them where I can and pinched the rest from the internet. There are some cars where I can't bring myself to find or even pinch a picture, like the Vauxhall Cavalier for example which was rusty from day 1 and the brand new Sierra Sapphire which hadn't been pdi'd and wouldn't do over 50mph. Just for a bit of context I'm 61 now, so the list starts around about 1979/80 when I passed my test in a Fiesta Mk1 after 3 lessons - which if memory serves cost £3 each and which were given to me as a present for my 18th birthday.
