The United Nations building New York

A fascinating tour and building. Unfortunately the main hall was closed for refurbishment when we visited and the whole place was eerily quiet (winter recess), but in architectural terms, its a 50's minimalist delight and well worth exploring if you're passing

The statue in the pictures below is from Nagasaki - it was one of the only things that survived the dropping of the atomic bomb in 1945. The front is in perfect condition - the rear is scorched from the blast
